August 12, 2008 My engineer, Bill, from Eau Claire is here now and my studio is coming along! He pulled up in his Toyota Prius and everything he that is now sitting in front of me that I'll broadcast from all fit in his backseat and trunk. It is so amazing that we are pulling this off! We just called into the station back in Eau Claire to test our broadcast equipment with Alex during his show and it worked! I swear I started crying when I heard George and Alex perfectly clear through my headphones and they could hear me. So far so good! This should all work tomorrow morning when George & I go live for the 1st time. I am sure we will run into problems at some point but to hook it all up and have it work effortlessly on the first go around...what an amazing feeling! WHEW! Kepp your fingers crossed. This is some seriously tricky technology- God bless my super smart and brainy engineers!
Went for my power walk last night in a different neighborhood than where I live....Kenny Chesney's neighborhood! Must admit that I know where he lives and was looking for a new, different, exciting, (star-studded) route. Looking at homes that are between 1 and 4 million bucks...makes that workout fly right by! It was a weird feeling to be listening to my ipod and "I Go Back" comes on as I am running past Chesney's house. He has a small lake/large pond on his property along side the road....his property is fenced in and my favorite part is that there is actually a sign that says "No fishing without permission". Really?? Okay...so just knock on the door and ask huh? Lol...his house is awesome. Big. Especially for a dude that lives alone! I am pretty sure he wasn't home. Looked kinda lifeless. But I didn't want to look to hard or to long! I am pretty sure he is ALWAYS on tour and if not...we all know how he feels about the islands right?! Anyways, life is good so far here in Nashville...seriously excited to talk to you tomorrow during our morning show! Until then....Love, Katie
